Syntax Hints for Database Search in the Glossary of Genetic Terms |
 |
prepared and presented by:
Birgid Schlindwein, Weihenstephan Information and Documentation Centre
- You can use * for truncation:
eg the search expression ge* will find all terms starting with 'ge...'
the search with only * will result in the list of all terms.
- If the search result is more than one term, you will get a list, where you pick the
desired term
- You can use ? for replacing exactly one sign:
eg the search expression a?en* will find 'acentric' and 'adenine'
