"Hops likes to see its master everyday,
is an old proverb in the Hallertau. And in fact: lots of work, effort and even money, the hops grower has
to invest into his hops plant, before the green gold may be sent all over the world as
brewing hops .
Elaborate structures have to be built for the
rapidly climbing plants. In spring, when the roots bring new life, the time for the many maintenance steps
begins.
After the flowering in July the cones are forming, the
Hopfendolden., containing: the desired Lupulin, without which the brewing of
beer would be unimaginable and which significantly
contributes to the fresh and acrid aroma. Harvest time is the beginning of September."
