Lectures and Posters

Plenary lectures will be presented by invited speakers. Speakers for the parallel sessions will be selected on the basis of scientific quality, information content and clarity of the submitted abstracts. Additionally, some lectures in parallel sessions will be given by invited speakers.

Time for presentations:
Plenary sessions: 30 min. presentation (no discussion)
Parallel sessions: 15 min. presentation + 5 min. discussion

EU-citizens can enter Germany with their Identity Card. Visitors from all other countries need a valid passport. For visitors from several countries visas are required. Please contact your travel agent or the local German Embassy or Consulate .

Financial Support

We will have only limited funds available for financial support of delegates from countries with currency exchange problems. Therefore, it is necessary that delegates apply for financial support in their own country first. Those who need funding may apply for a reimbursement of the Symposium fee and for part of the accommodation costs. Travel costs will not be funded.
Delegates who wish to apply for financial support should send a letter before 15 January 2001 to the Symposium secretariat explaining what kind of support is needed. Delegates from countries with currency exchange problems who are dependant on national funds, and do not know before 15 January whether or not they will get support, must indicate this to the Symposium secretariat . The organizing committee will inform the applicants as soon as possible. Funds will be payed at the conference.

Weather / Clothing

Freising belongs to the temperate climate zone with warm summers. July and August are usually the warmest months with day temperatures between 20 and 30 °C. Therefore, summer clothing is recommended. Short showers and thunderstorms may occur from time to time. This means that you may need rain protection, especially for the excursions. During longer rain periods - which are not usual but may occur - it may be colder with day temperatures between 15 and 20 °C.
Warm clothes are recommended for excursions to the Alps ( Mid-Symposium Excursion (B) and Post-Symposium Excursion ).

Forecast: Weather near Munich

Program for Accompanying Persons

For accompanying persons a special touristic program will be arranged. It will include sight seeing tours to historic churches and buildings in Freising and Munich and visits of famous gardens, parks and museums. The costs, 100 DEM / 51 EUR per person, should be paid together with the Symposium fee.

The fee for accompanying persons includes the Mid-Symposium excursion and the Symposium dinner.
